Approximately 7,400 Ottawa homes have had power restored after a storm created outages across the south end of the city.
A tweet sent at 11:04 said power had been restored to around 5,000 homes in Riverside and a tweet send at 9:01 p.m. said power had been restored to approximately 2,000 homes in Manotick.
Hydro Ottawa tweeted that approximately 10,000 homes were without power at 7:07 p.m. — around the time a thunderstorm rolled into the city.
“Crews are investigating damage and working to restore power as soon as possible,” the tweet says.
Another tweet said there was no restoration time for Barrhaven and Riverside South as crews were working on a damaged transformer station as a result of the storm.
“Bear with us. Crews working hard in heatwave. It’s a priority,” the tweet says.
