The Science Technology and Innovation Policy (STIP) Forum has been set up with the objective of promoting debate on various aspects of Science, Technology and Innovation Policy. The Forum would go beyond the disciplinary boundaries by taking into account the intersectionality of S&T and Innovation. It aims to will also bridge the gap between science and society for dissemination of scientific achievements as well as for generalizing debate of societal aspirations and promoting responsible research and innovations.

The monthly lecture series of public lectures have been launched to sensitize the public discourse on science, technology and innovation policy. Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), The Energy Resources Institute (TERI), Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA), Vigyan Prasar and India Habitat Centre (IHC) are collaborative institutes.

Join us for the next 38th Lecture in the STIP Forum Lecture Series on 29th October 2021 at 4:00 PM.

About ISTI Portal:

India Science, Technology and Innovation (ISTI) Web Portal is a centralized, one-stop repository system for scientific research activities which includes information on their intricate details. With the vision of providing a single-window source of information about science in India by aggregating information on scientific inputs and outputs and disseminating related contents, ISTI Portal is an attempt to address the gaps of identified issues and compute the impact of funding to enhance effectiveness. The portal will leverage the Government of India’s fundamental intent of funding the STI efforts across thousands of organizations, extract the information and make it available to the scientific community in specific and the common public in general.

Accordingly, ISTI web portal has been envisaged as a user-friendly destination, which is as intuitive as possible with content retrieval. The portal presents the respective repositories of ongoing and recently completed research projects, technologies developed, innovations, funding opportunities, programmes and schemes, scholarships and fellowships, organizations, and so on. The portal is pacing to become the gateway for users to fetch adequate information related to the Indian STI Ecosystem. The portal is in the process of developing the data architecture to have a continuously updated, standardized inflow of content. ISTI portal would provide insights and analytics of the information related to research, technologies, innovations, funding, etc. as data visualization by implementing data architecture in information systems. The portal contemplates itself as an impactful platform for informed decision-making for policymaking.

ISTI Portal would be evolved and paced in the shape of STI Observatory to fit in the concepts and upgraded to an open access system as per the requirements, envisaged in Draft STI Policy 2020. It is being planned and proposed as the foundation of the larger mission of STI Observatory, which would be a one-point data center as well as the face of scientific data in India.
