In September 2021, the Aura Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) held its first student conference at the Aura Innovation Centre in Hull. Delegates were invited to answer the question ‘How green is offshore wind energy?’ with interesting results, taking in the full lifespan of an offshore wind facility and looking toward a sustainable future for the industry.
The Aura CDT is a partnership between the universities of Hull, Durham, Newcastle and Sheffield. It offers funded PhD Scholarships to exceptional candidates who pursue ground-breaking research into the engineering and environmental challenges facing the offshore wind sector and so contribute to its sustainable future.
